Teaching

My primary goal as a teacher is to instill in my students a meaningful and lasting connection to the art of piano playing. In my lessons, I work with students on developing a natural, flexible, and disciplined approach to the instrument, while exploring relationships between music and other aspects of life.

 

Above all, my approach to teaching is guided by my respect and care for each student as an individual. I work with students of all ages in my private studio in New York City (in-person as well as online) and have taught masterclasses at Western Connecticut State University and New York University. In addition to my private studio, I teach piano at the Browning School and am on the faculty at Mannes Prep at The New School.
